Speaking at the Stanford commencement last week was Oprah Winfrey – a superstar with so much fame and power, she’s known simply by her first name. When the senior class presidents first heard that Oprah was selected to speak, they said: “We look forward to hearing her thoughts about meeting life's challenges and making a difference in the world.”

By a vote of 94-3, Louisiana’s House of Representatives yesterday passed an academic freedom bill that would protect teachers and school districts that promote objective discussion about evolution and other scientific topics.
