Interstellar Iron on Earth
Isaiah 41:21
“Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.”
It has been suggested that deep-sea sediments confirm past supernovae events within a few light years of Earth. This is important to evolutionists because some consider that the fallout from a supernova caused one of their mass extinction events.
Let us look at evolutionists’ use of scientific evidence and show how they are inconsistent with their use of data. Supernovae produce a radioactive isotope of iron with an atomic mass of 60. Traces of this isotope have been found in oceanic sediments. This iron-60 could not have been present at the alleged evolutionary formation of Earth.
Their reasoning is as follows. Iron-60 has a half-life of 2.6 million years. As an aside, this is an experimental and accurate figure, which tells us how long it would take for half of a sample of iron-60 to decay, not that the iron-60 has actually been around that long. So it is not a problem for me to accept that half-life despite accepting the biblical age of 6,000 years for Earth. The article suggests that all iron-60 should have disappeared in 15 million years. This is about six half-lives. This is logical, but inconsistent with evolutionary claims of long ages for diamonds, which contain carbon-14 in what would be greater than six half-lives. Their logical application in one scientific discipline is at odds with their illogical use of radiometric dating in another. It would be even more logical to start from the biblical age of 6,000 years for creation, as shown in the book of Genesis.
Prayer: We acknowledge, Lord, that we have no basis for logic or science, reason or morality without You and Your wonderful word. Amen.
