One of the latest pseudo-sciences is Gender Identity or Transgenderism. Incredible as it is, scientists and governments appear to be saying that people are not either clearly male or female, but are what they may “feel” they are. The teaching is that gender is psychologically determined, and sex is “fluid”. We should not be allowed to question whatever sex a person may say he/she/it/they feels to be. Here the agenda is the powerful LGBTQ lobby, sexual license, and relativism.
You see, even science can bend to the idea that truth is relative and not absolute. Even though the physical differences between male and female are quite clear (it’s always the big news when babies are born!) and even though we know about the Y chromosome which we have in every single cell of our body (if we are male), we can bend science to an “agenda”. Pseudo-science is all around us. And that’s why the Bible cautions us about it: “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so-called” (1 Timothy 6:20).
When the Bible says “…keep that which is committed to thy trust…” it is saying that we have the duty to guard against all attempts to distort, deny, and destroy the Christian faith. This is what the Bible tells us the world, the flesh, and the devil are attempting to do. This includes all kinds of pseudo-scientific interpretations of things, and most fundamentally evolutionism which is arguably the key pseudo-science we contend with!
The only way to deal with such pseudo-sciences as evolution is to oppose it and expose it with true science and the Word of God.
