Dear Friend of Creation,Mark Cadwallader

“In the beginning was the Word… all things were made through Him… In Him was life and the life was the light of men… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…”, (John 1:1,3,4,14).

The Word was God’s instrument of creation, the Word which spoke things into existence, and the Word which became flesh to win our salvation. With Christmas, we celebrate how the awesome Creator came as one of the most humble and helpless among us – another miracle in the very creation He established.

What parent or grandparent has not been touched at the birth of our children, peering in awe at their perfect little fingers and toes and other features? We can’t help but smile down at them as we gaze into their eyes and make a connection through “the windows of their soul”!

Notice, before God gave us Himself, in the miracle of Christmas, He gave us skies and sunshine and flowers and fresh air and birds and sunsets over lakes and hills. He gave us smiles and friendships and children and babies – and then, “in the fullness of time”, that included the baby Jesus to touch our hearts in a most profound way!

Yes, to use what has now become a cliché, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year” again, as the world catches some of the joy, spirit-of-giving and love that God has for us on this most celebrated of Christian holidays.

As it says in Hebrews 1:1-3, “God… Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son… by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power…”.

No wonder the glory of the Lord shone brightly round about the shepherds on the hills outside Bethlehem at the birth of Jesus, and the multitude of angelic hosts praised God and proclaimed “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14).

Notice also, in the opening quotation from John’s gospel, that life and light are connected. They are connected spiritually, and also physically.

In 2011, researchers at Northwestern University were able to photograph the moment sperm and egg united in mice. And in that moment, there was an electrochemically induced flash of light. By 2014, this pulsating so-called “zinc spark” of light was photographed in the conception of human life – when the 23 chromosomes in the DNA of a human egg were united with the 23 chromosomes in the DNA of a human sperm.

Visible light is released at the conception of life, at the moment all components are present and united for a new life! This phenomenon is now officially part of our scientific knowledge of the world. We can say with photographic evidence that an immaterial phenomenon, an immaterial essence, a spark of light accompanies life! Indeed, the Bible says that soul (an immaterial essence) resides in our physical bodies.

In fact, the Bible says that animals, while not having the “image of God” have that immaterial essence as well. In Genesis 7:22, during the account of the great Flood that destroyed all land life, we read, “All in whose nostrils was the breath of life (Hebrew: neshamah meaning breath, spirit, soul), of all that was in the dry land, died”. And, no wonder we can tell the difference between “dead eyes” and “bright eyes” because they are in many ways as is said, “windows to the soul”. There is an immaterial essence given to us by the Author of Life!

The living “Word” of God (the Lord Jesus Christ) made all things – the “works” of God (John 1:1-3). Thus, His works point to His “invisible” attributes – to His spiritual reality and “Godhead” (Romans 1:20). His written Word is, “quick and powerful (living and active)” through the Spirit of God, and able to “pierce even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow” (Hebrews 4:12). “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God (God-breathed) and is profitable” to us in many ways (2 Timothy 3:16). Thus, the Bible encourages us to meditate in His Word “day and night” (Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3), and to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17), having a constant and deeply rewarding awareness of God’s presence and guidance.

This is why we are so excited to be launching another great resource, our new Creation Meditations, available to those who join our Creation Advocates community. These videos, packed with Scripture and stunning footage, are helpful ways to do what the Bible encourages; to “meditate on all Thy works” and “muse on the work of Thy hands” (Psalm 143:5); and to “meditate in Thy precepts, and contemplate (have respect unto) Thy ways” (Psalm 119:15).

The message of Christmas is that the great Creator who gave us so many beautiful and wonderful things already, has joined us in His creation to give us what we most desperately needed – “the Word becoming flesh”. God became one of us so that we could be drawn back to Him. The greatest truth ever proclaimed is that of Emmanuel, “God with us”. The lie, justified by evolution, is that God is not with us and that “Nature is our Creator”.

Please help us stand for His truth, expose this great lie, and help people throughout the entire world find the light of the Savior! Help us sow the seed of God’s Word so people can receive it in their souls, and in a wonderful spark of spiritual life, be born again!

His name is indeed Wonderful! May you all relive the joy that is Emmanuel at this special time of year! We thank you so much for your prayers and your giving. God bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand this Christmas time and always!

    Yours in Christ,

    Mark Cadwallader, Board Chairman
