November 2023
Dear Friend of Creation Moments,
What would you do if you were hiking and, coming around the turn at a big boulder, you came face to face with an Alaskan grizzly bear?
Suddenly, five yards in front of you on the trail, rising up nine feet on its hind legs, was what scientists call “The Apex Predator”. This bear can cover 50 yards in three seconds and kill a 1,500-lb moose with one big strike of its clawed paw. So, what would you do?
Well, the natives and many naturalists of Alaska advise, ‘sing’! Sing anything! The sound of a melody throws them off!
Vibration in Creation
The brilliant Nicola Tesla, who developed alternating electric current (AC) generation, is famously reported to have said, “If you want to understand the secrets of the universe, you have to think in terms of frequency, energy, and vibrations.” And sound is essentially a vibration brought into the audible range.
In fact, the Bible says that God’s word sounding forth is what created everything in the first place. Nine times in Genesis, the creation account says “God said” (Genesis 1:3,6,9,11,14,20,24,26,29). God spoke the physical into existence, audibly expressing His word. “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth… For he spake, and it was done…” (Psalm 33:3,6,9).
Indeed, modern science tells us that at the root of all things is vibration. The various elementary particles of matter – such as electrons, photons and all the various quarks – are simply discreet vibrations. The Bible mentions vibration at the origin, too. “And the Spirit moved (fluttered, vibrated) upon the face of the waters. And God said let there be light; and there was light” (Genesis 1:2-3).
The famous equation for atomic power is E=mc2. Or to say it in words, mass is comprised of energy proportioned by the speed of light. Furthermore, the energy of a fundamental elementary particle like a photon of light is simply equal in proportion to the measurable frequency at which it vibrates, E=hf (Planck’s equation). Physical mass boils down, at its most fundamental level, to vibrational frequencies.
In fact, all the sights, sounds, touches, tastes, and smells of our five senses have a frequency associated with them! Imaging spectroscopy, like MRI, works because of frequencies. Frequencies and vibrations are at the root of God’s creation.
Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord
Philosophers and theologians such as St. Augustine have noted that the Creator has encoded music into the structure of the universe. As music theory informs us, there’s a mathematical basis and precision of music in the creation. Precise lenght and thicknesses of strings, for example, stretched over wood correspond to make musical tone. It’s built-in to the creation.
In a materialist worldview and many others, there is no reason for music. Buddhists, Muslims, epicurean philosophers, and evolutionists see no reason for music. But its power and influence for humanity is actually a proof of the soul and spiritual nature of human beings. Music has largely flowered and reached its apex out of a biblical worldview. And the Bible is filled with admonitions to make music! “…but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:18-19).
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. …Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name…” (Psalm 100:1-4).
This Thanksgiving I encourage you to be thankful for all the “vibes” of life – for the tastes, smells, touches, sights, and sounds of life all around us. God created us for the extravagant pleasure of being alive! Think about that this Thanksgiving holiday!
And we can be thankful for our eternal fellowship with the Lord, which we can share in an even more extravagant pleasure of being truly alive, in a wonderful way forthcoming! Because another wonderful creative SOUND is coming!
The Sound of Re-Creation
“Behold I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
Think about it! The Bible says that “the trumpet shall SOUND” and a new day will dawn “in the twinkling of an eye”. Some audible vibrational power will remake, will re-create, the books of each of our DNA codes, in a way that’s “incorruptible”!
All people will be re-created to stand before the judgment of the Lord. And the question will be whether they know the Lord Jesus Christ! So here’s where the sounding of God’s word falls to us via the Great Commission – to make disciples of all nations. “And how shall they hear without a preacher? … So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:14,17).
Thank you for helping us reach all nations with our expanding biblical truth and gospel outreach to the world by radio and internet! At the start of this holiday season, we are particularly thankful for you standing with us with your prayer support and gifts! God bless you and your family this Thanksgiving!
Yours in Christ,
Mark Cadwallader, Board Chairman
