Psalm 104:27
“These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give [them] their meat in due season.”
The intelligence of the interrelationships between three unrelated desert creatures gives witness to the fact that there is a single, all-wise Creator of all things. Today we want to tell you about the sidewinder snake.
While the sidewinder’s weird, whip-like method of movement across the desert sands propels him faster 
than you might think, he cannot hope to catch one of his favorite foods, the gecko. Sometimes the sidewinder can sneak up on the lizard, but as soon as the gecko spots him, it runs off at top speed. Now the sidewinder may begin plan “B” and collect a little “bait” for desert fishing. The snake buries his entire body in the soft sand, except for the very tip of his tail, which sticks out of the sand, looking like a lone blade of grass. Soon ants discover this potential source of food in the barren desert and begin to explore it. Now it will only be a matter of time before the gecko finds the ants – one of his favorite foods. While the unsuspecting gecko prepares for his dinner, the sidewinder strikes from beneath the sand and gets his dinner by eating the gecko.
Could the sidewinder have perfected this neat little trick by any natural device? No. This is a witness to the intelligence of our Creator, as well as to His care of all His creatures – even the sidewinder.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we see that You care for all You have made. Help each of us to thank You as we see that Your care for us goes beyond giving us food. You also provide for our salvation through Jesus Christ. Amen.
