Hebrews 3:4
“For every house is builded by some [man]; but he that built all things [is] God.”
Scientists reported in November of 1989 that a satellite that was supposed to help them answer questions about how the universe got here gave them no answers at all. The satellite, called the Cosmic Background Explorer, worked fine. Scientists just didn’t find the evidences they expected to support their explanation of how the Big Bang could have produced the present universe.
The Cosmic Background Explorer failed to detect the patterns of microwave and infrared radiation that would support the Big Bang. “I am completely mystified how the present structures [in the universe] came to exist without leaving some trace,” said John Mather, an astronomer with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.
Scientists noted that their failure to find the expected patterns of radiation leads to the obvious conclusion that neither we nor the universe exists! But Mather added, “We have not eliminated our existence yet.”
Christians who know what the Creator tells us about the origin of the universe can easily see the problem here. The expected evidence for how the universe got here through a Big Bang isn’t to be found because the creation wasn’t formed by a big explosion in space. The Bible says very clearly that this world didn’t come into existence without a creator. Hebrews 3:4 tells us: “For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.” It’s not with satellites that we find God, but in His Word – the Bible.
Prayer:
Father, even we who know You often look for You everywhere but where we can find You revealed to us in great detail – the Bible. Remind me to make daily use of Your Word to learn more of the relationship You would have with me through Your Son, Jesus Christ. In His Name. Amen.
