1 Kings 4:30
“And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.”
“Have you ever heard the claim ‘all smart people are atheists’, or maybe its inverse: ‘people who believe in God are dumb’?” So begins a column at Examiner.com by a writer who decided to see if this is true by taking a closer look at the ten highest IQs ever recorded. His conclusion is that the most intelligent people on the planet believe in God.
Of course, we don’t have time today to tell you about all 10, but we will give you a glimpse into the amazing mind of Andrew Magdy Kamal. Just before he turned 17, Andrew was found to have the highest IQ ever recorded – 231.734. According to the columnist, Andrew “is a staunch conservative and a member of the Republican Tea Party. He is also the founder of the Coptic Orthodox Messianicans Group.” Andrew said he “hopes to use his talents and intelligence to spread the news of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) his hero.”
The highest IQ ever recorded for an adult in the “advanced IQ test” was attained by Abdessellam Jelloul. He scored an adult IQ of 198. When asked about his religious beliefs, he replied that he “believes in God, a Supreme Architect of the universe.”
Obviously, there are intelligent people who do and who don’t believe in God. In the end, it is important to remember that it is not one’s intellect that can put a person into a right relationship with the God of the universe. It is faith in Jesus Christ.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You that it is not a person’s great intellect that causes a person to turn to Your Son for salvation. Otherwise, I might not be praying to You right now! Amen.
