Some biological structures are so complex that evolutionary scientists say they took many millions of years to evolve. At the same time, and usually unsaid, is the fact that these structures only work in their finished form – the evolving forms would have no survival value.
In the hearing organs of your ear is the complex system that helps you keep your balance. This system is made up of fluid-filled cavities and semicircular canals that are also filled with fluid. These organs provide a constant stream of information to your brain, along with what you see and touch, to tell you where you are in space. The key to this system are calcium crystals called otoliths that literally means “ear rocks.” These otoliths are held inside a gelatin-like membrane. Tilt your head to the right and gravity causes the otoliths to bump into tiny hairs that send chemical signals to your brain. If these ear rocks break loose, they bump into the wrong hairs. This results in the brain receiving signals that don’t agree with what you are seeing. These conflicting signals produce vertigo.
Our elegant and precise balance system is useless to us except in its finished form. That simple fact rules out any evolutionary origin. The obvious alternative is that our balance system, along with everything else that exists, has an all-wise Creator.
