We are so glad you’re taking a few minutes to read this letter and connect with Creation Moments today! Our hearts are full of gratitude for you, and therefore, I’d like to encourage you with a message that is both personal and deeply rooted in God’s Word.
The Harsh Reality of Separation – And the Bridge to Reconciliation
Everywhere we look, the world is marked by separation. We see it on the news, in broken relationships, and sometimes even in our own families and churches. If we’re honest, we all feel that sense of distance – especially the vertical gap between us and our Creator. Romans 8:22 reminds us, "For we know that the whole creation groaneth..." Sin created a deep divide, leaving us longing for connection, for wholeness, for peace.
Yet, from the very beginning, God knew this separation would exist. Even before the Fall of Adam and Eve into sin, He gives us a glimpse of what was to come: On the second day, the Bible describes God dividing the waters “above” and “below” with the firmament (Genesis 1:6-8). This literal separation in creation foreshadows the spiritual chasm that would later separate humanity from a Holy God, just as His Word attests: "But your iniquities have separated you from your God..." (Isaiah 59:2).
But here’s the good news! God had a plan “foreordained before the foundation of the world” (1 Peter 1:20, Ephesians 1:4) to call for Himself a people of His own, from every tribe, tongue, and nation, for eternity. Because of Jesus, the gap between us and God has been bridged! He literally reconnects “the waters below” to “the waters above.” Christ’s sacrifice on the cross changed everything. "For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself…" (Colossians 1:19-20). No matter how far away we’ve felt, Jesus brings us near. He’s our bridge, and through Him, we have bold access to God’s presence – right now, right where we are. "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way..." (Hebrews 10:19-20).
The cross is the ultimate bridge, allowing us to rise from the depths of earthly separation and draw near to God's throne room, even while our feet still walk on this earth. This has a very real and direct impact on how we live every day among so many souls who are still very separated.
Shining with a Heavenly Mindset - Empowered for New Living
Because of Christ, we are invited to live with a new perspective. Since the spiritual gap between us is no longer there, we become vessels of His light, shining hope in a world that desperately needs it – just like the heavenly bodies created on the fourth day, our light points people heavenward. "Let your light so shine before men..." (Matthew 5:16). And Paul reminds us in Philippians 2:15 that we are to "shine as lights in the world." As we walk as children of light, everything we do can become an act of worship and love (1 Corinthians 10:31).
This doesn’t mean escaping our daily realities; it means aligning them with our purpose from above. Colossians 3:1-2 urges us, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." When we remember this, our ordinary routines and relationships reflect God’s glory. He doesn’t expect us to do this in our own power. He gives us His Holy Spirit – our Counselor and Comforter – as well as His Word to light our path. Galatians 5:16 encourages, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." The Holy Spirit empowers us to love our neighbors, to forgive, to serve, and to reflect Christ’s love, even in difficult moments. As we stay close to God in prayer and open our Bibles, we find fresh strength for every challenge.

By fixing our eyes on Christ, saturating ourselves in His living Word, and yielding to the empowering flow of the Holy Spirit, we can do the most “earthly good” with a truly “heavenly mind”, bringing glory to God in every sphere of our lives!
