Dear Friend of Creation,

A sixteen-year-old boy went camping in the Atlas Mountains of Northwest Africa. He was absolutely floored by the glorious views from the mountain peaks, looking down on the clouds in the sunshine and out in the distance, the Atlantic Ocean. And he said to himself, “There must be a God after all!” Martin had been born into a nominal Muslim family in a Muslim-majority country, but raised mostly by his uncle who was an activist communist dodging the royalist government.
After his mountain top experience, Martin spent two years researching all kinds of things having to do with different religions on the internet. And he said that when he read the Bible, it answered his questions and gave him a feeling of peace. When he read the Koran and other religious texts, they did not. They brought up more questions. Finally, he told me, while reading in Revelation about the 666 “mark of the beast”, he became heavily convicted through the Holy Spirit, having made that number a part of his call sign identity since a young boy. He gave his life to Christ and eventually became a pastor in the underground church of his country, dealing routinely in wisdom and boldness against the heavy pressure to submit to an anti-Christian culture and outright Christian persecution. Some of the undercover boldness he learned from his activist uncle has helped him, he said.
Three important points in Martin’s testimony are:
- Creation, and thus creation-evangelism, is integral to the Lord’s witness on earth.
- The Bible is indeed God’s word, bringing truth and conviction of the Holy Spirit into the hearts of men.
- Christian persecution is to be expected in a world subject to the many lies, false philosophies, and oppressions of the devil. This calls for the exercise of Christian character, including boldness to “stand” and heed the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Before I continue, let me bring up an important point about persecution. Though we see it all over the world, even in this modern era, much of it is hidden and unreported, or spoken of in terms and in language that intentionally disguise a horrible reality. For example, people hide the whole truth about killing the weakest and most innocent among us by using the term “Pro-Choice”. Here is a scourge on modern Christian civilization that God has judged since the times of the Jewish people in Canaan. And as mentioned in a recent letter, Creation Moments has now completed a new resource called Created for Life (featured on the back page) that we hope to make free for Churches and Pregnancy Assistance Centers. This will expand our outreach bringing essential creation truth to more people! And this month, we’re inviting your generous donations to making this booklet available at no cost to such ministries as may be interested!
The truth is that tribulation, and even persecution in this world are forecast by the Lord of Life, as we choose to follow Him (John 16:33, Matthew 5:11). Although our “position” is “in Christ”, our “condition” is not yet perfected. “For I reckon (consider) that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us… even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body” (Romans 8:18,23).
Poet and hymn writer Esther Rusthoi, herself beset with a frail body and many illnesses, dying at the age of 53, famously put this sentiment to song: “It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus. Our trials will seem so small, when we see Christ. One glimpse of His dear face, our sorrow will erase. So bravely run the race, ‘til we see Christ!” – Esther K. Rusthoi, 1940. The truth, goodness, and wonderful beauty of God will explode with all clarity before us when He fully connects to our resurrected bodies (1 John 3:2). And we will have the ability to experience a beauty that will completely transcend anything we can experience here – as it will be the full illumination and luminosity of God Himself which He has in mind for us!
Some of you may have recognized the opening line of this letter as coming from the classic police detective show, Dragnet. A dragnet is, of course, a fishing net with weights that is dragged along the bottom of the sea or set overnight and then pulled in to shore catching all the fish in its path. One of Jesus’ parables is that the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet (Matthew 13:47). And that is a good picture of the world-wide creation-evangelism through radio and other media in which we are engaged!
The message of the gospel in creation is netting many folks – folks in “post-Christian” western cultures, where abortion and other evils inspired by the acceptance of evolution dominate. And the message is netting folks in cultures subjugated by the conquests of Islam and the pantheism and polytheism of Tower of Babel-based religions. This makes you, our partners in ministry, “fishers of men” - as Jesus said He will make us if we follow Him (Matthew 4:19)! Let me share with you what one of the listeners of our Hindi language program in India recently had to say:

This includes a concentration of the particularly unreached and persecuted peoples of the so-called 10/40 window – the area of the world between northern latitudes 10 and 40 degrees where persecution is high, missionary representation is low, and 96% of unreached peoples live.
We are very excited about how God is working with us in these last days - opening doors and “windows” of opportunity as He moves mightily through world events and mass communication – in the midst of tribulation and persecution! And we are so humbled and grateful for your participation in these historic opportunities to share the good news of biblical creation - and of its Creator and Savior!
