“Tokyo Rose” broadcasts of World War 2 were a famous psychological warfare campaign by Radio Tokyo (NHK) aimed at demoralizing Allied troops. The programs combined popular music with propaganda to make soldiers homesick, hopeless, and doubt their mission.
These were an example of Psychological Operations (Psy-Ops or PSYOPS). Such methods of “disinformation” and “brainwashing” were also a part of Nazi, Soviet, and Maoist tactics, and are essentially part of all warfare and clandestine operations. They include many strategies and tactics to create a sense of demoralized inevitability – used in addition to old-fashioned leaflets, radio, and edited media “struggle sessions”, “re-education”, and targeted violence. They work toward psychological and cultural manipulation to achieve revolutionary outcome.
We are seeing that currently, with the organized resistance through provocation and riots during Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) efforts in certain cities, such as Minneapolis. Outside organizations and funding of agitators and tactics, in collaboration with media, have taken the focus off root problems of illegal immigration, fraud, and money laundering. And they’ve created a “struggle” hysteria, which the media amplifies to tug at people’s emotions. Unlike in other administrations, when ICE was allowed to do its job without interference.
Indeed, Psy-Ops are everywhere. Do you believe that a boy can become a girl? Do you believe that “white supremacy is the greatest source of terrorism”? Do you believe that by using hydrocarbons and fertilizers, mankind is changing the climate of the world so that we will soon have an irreversible global catastrophe? Do you believe that wind, solar, and geothermal power can entirely replace hydrocarbon fuels and nuclear power? Do you believe that the historical narrative of Genesis can’t be trusted? Do you believe that human life has emerged from a big bang, a primordial “soup”, and many chance reactions, mutations, and natural selections of evolution? Do you believe that the earth is many billions of years old in order for evolution to do its thing… in effect, replacing the biblical God?
Do you believe that God, the Creator, emptied Himself into his creation so that He no longer exists except in the form of many lesser gods and/or scattered into nature itself? Interestingly, this is exactly the lie that led to the polytheistic/pantheistic idolatrous religious worldviews that proliferated throughout the world in various forms from the time of the rebellion at the Tower of Babel.1 In the beginning, after the Great Flood, everyone knew Noah and believed in the one true God. But the Bible says this changed by the time of the dispersion from the Tower of Babel. Babel, through the tyranny of the mighty rebel Nimrod, was a driving force for these false religious views.3,4 “Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth” (Revelation 17:5).
The “enlightenment of the Serpent” was a psy-op which Satan, “the father of lies” (John 8:44), used to deceive Adam and Eve. He gave them this big lie: “Ye surely shall not die” if they disobeyed God and ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. He then told them that “…your eyes shall be opened (i.e., you’ll get “woke”) and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5).
Truth begins with the Bible, and we must get our history from it. We should not get our history from the “earth history” and “pre-history” and exaggerated timescales of evolution. We should not get our history from corrupted evolution-inspired or other false philosophy-inspired renditions that leave out any ancient work which might corroborate the Bible.
Here is how we can distinguish between true and dubious histories. Bible-believing historians have noted and documented the many ancient works which have affirmed the Bible’s history. The timelines of Genesis are affirmed with amazing and incredibly well-fitting ancient histories from Jewish and Christian sources, and even pagan histories which knew nothing of Jewish or Christian sources.
Many of these ancient sources were used by the early Church Fathers to shore-up their apologetics to the early Roman world and help convert Europe to a Christian civilization. Such sources and research help corroborate the timing of biblical events; some of the details of the pre- and post-Flood apostasies away from God; the real people on whom the Greek, Norse, Hindu, and other mythologies were based; and the ancient lineages and origins of people groups.
Psy-ops have been around a long time and persist with horribly evil consequences to this day. It is extremely important for Christians to understand this, and to be skeptical and discerning toward the world and its lies, and vigilant in their exposure and refutation.
